Two sides of a gold-plated medal feature an inscription circling an image on both sides (see "Inscriptions" field). On the left, is Ceres in profile facing right inside a scalloped border, with a wheat sprig in her hair and "JG © 39" at the base. On the right, a rose with two buds and a small flying insect is centered. The raised lettering follows the circular edge of both sides.
