A vertically oriented black-inked lithograph depicts Charles Carroll of Carrollton from the shoulders up, looking slightly to our right. Fine, etched lines mark his aged face, and thin white hair is tied with a dark ribbon. He wears a white neckcloth and dark waistcoat. Dense, cross-hatched shading creates a textured oval aura behind his head. Cursive script and small publication credits are printed at the bottom of the off-white page.
