A horizontally oriented lithograph uses soft, chalky strokes to depict a river scene in muted greens and blues. In the lower left, a figure stands among seven white geese on a grassy bank. A rowboat with two figures glides across the water toward the right. A row of white houses with reddish roofs lines the far shore beneath a gray sky with horizontal, hazy clouds. The signature Sisley appears in the bottom right corner.
