A vertically oriented wood engraving is composed of five scenes from a fire watch-tower. At top, a man with light skin tone peers through a telescope. Centrally, another man with light skin tone climbs a spiral staircase toward a massive bell. To our left, a tall tower rises beside a meat market. On our right, panels depict a man pulling a lever and a horse-drawn fire engine racing through streets.
