Description
This four-sided vase with ovoid body, spreading foot, and short neck is decorated with birds, trees, and flowers in various enamels. The two dragon handles are decorated with floral designs in gold on a rouge-de-fer ground.- ?-1913George Reynolds Davies, Esq. He started in business with his father, Solomon Lewis Gorer (1842-1907), so at various times the company was called Messrs. S. Gorer & Son or the Indo-China Curio Trading Company. Edgar Gorer died in the sinking of the Cunard liner RMS Lusitania off the coast of Ireland by a German submarine.
