A circular bronze medal depicts five slender female figures in relief on a tiered platform. In the upper half, two women sit on steps at our left while two stand behind them; to our right, another woman sits on a bench. Below, two long-bodied animals stand flanking an inscription. The lower half features the title THE FOOLISH VIRGINS followed by lines of Tennyson's poetry in raised, capital letters.
