A horizontally oriented etching in dark ink depicts two older men with light skin tones hunched over a newspaper. On our left, a man wears a dark brimmed hat; beside him, the other wears spectacles and an apron. Dense, frenetic cross-hatching creates deep shadows throughout the scene, obscuring much of the background. Inscribed in the lower right margin is the signature "D.C. Sturgis."
