A horizontally oriented monochromatic lithograph depicts a forest floor in light gray tones. Tall trees in the middle ground cast long shadows from left to right across pale earth. To the right, a textured tree trunk stands near scattered rocks and branches. Fine lines define bark and soil textures. The expansive foreground is open and light. Small markings and cursive text appear along the bottom edge (see 'Inscriptions').
