A vertically oriented aquatint and stipple engraving depicts a begonia plant against a cloudy sky. Dark green and reddish-brown leaves grow from red stems, supporting clusters of white flowers with yellow centers and pink-tinged buds. In the upper left, an orange and black butterfly flies above green and pink seed pods. Cursive text at the bottom center reads, "The oblique-leaved Begonia," with fine script identifying the artists in the lower margin.
