A horizontally oriented oil painting depicts a stone cathedral with twin towers and a spire rising over a row of rust-colored trees. Below, a stone bridge spans a river. In the sandy foreground, a woman wearing a white cap walks near a dog and two men. To the right, a man in a long coat stands by the water. Feathered brushwork renders a pale blue sky filled with a flock of birds.
