Artist's inscription, signature, and seal: The ancients, when painting snow always emphasized the chilly wind to depict the coldness. Recent painters have not realized this. Kangxi era, jaizi 甲子 year [1684], winter, the tenth month. Zha Shibiao [seal] Shibiao.
