A vertically oriented wood engraving depicts a man standing with legs spread wide in a marketplace. He wears a knee-length coat and a three-cornered hat, looking off to our right. In the background, numerous figures sit on the ground before arched buildings and a domed tower, set against jagged mountains. High black-and-white contrast and fine parallel lines define the textures, casting long, dark shadows across the sunlit pavement.
