A vertically oriented lithograph in thick, sketchy lines on off-white paper depicts James Ensor, a man with light skin tone. Depicted from the shoulders up, he looks toward us with large eyes under a furrowed brow, a mustache, and a curly beard. Heavy, dark strokes represent a garment around his shoulders. Handwritten text reading "orig. Litho." and a script signature appear at the bottom edge.
