Description
This colorful and finely woven band combines motifs of the Byzantine period, such as the bird and flanking palmettes (fan-shaped leaves), with new Islamic fashions such as the roundel with a pearl border.- (Mrs. Paul Mallon, Paris; said to have been found in Egypt).
