A vertically oriented etching and engraving depicts a tall mass of dense foliage and tangled vines centered against a light gray background. From the lower section, tall grasses and varied leaf shapes grow upward. Above, fine black lines overlap to create a tapering pillar of small leaves and hanging clusters. Deep shadows and heavy textures define the greenery throughout the composition. Handwritten text in the bottom margin reads "Trial proof IV."
