Did You Know?
Mexican muralists such as Siqueiros were concerned with racial inequality, and they were unwilling to compromise their beliefs in their artworks. An artists’ manifesto signed by Siqueiros reads, “What is a revolutionary artist in Mexico? One who, by taking an active part in the people's struggle for their rights, puts his art at the service of this movement.”- {{cite web|title=Whipping Boy|url=false|author=David Alfaro Siqueiros|year=1935|access-date=20 December 2025|publisher=Cleveland Museum of Art}}
