Sadaksari-Lokesvara Mandala
c. 1475–1525
Location: not on view
Description
A quintet of Buddhist divinities are seated on lotus thrones supported by scrolling floral forms. They are carved in relief on a wooden block and arranged diagrammatically. This configuration establishes the icon to be a mandala.- ?-1965Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Klejman, New York, NY, given to the Cleveland Museum of Art1965-The Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH
