Description

This textile fragment preserves a pair of addorsed peacocks in tan on a plain tan background with an inscription along the border.

on right: "Glory to our Master the [Sultan], Glory to our Master the Sultan and Caliph of the Merciful One, Baqir bin Shahrazad al-Hamadhani, may [God] prolong [his] shadow. Glory to our Master the Sultan and Ca[liph of . . .]"; inscription on left: ". . . al-Hamadhani, may [G]od prolong [his] shadow. Glory to our Master the Sultan and Caliph of the Mer[ciful One . . .]."
