Description
As in many places, concerns with sickness and healing feature prominently in Guna society. Traditional healing methods require the intervention of trained medicine men and their tools. This panel may depict a pair of medicine men holding nuchus, carved wood figures activated by incantations and used to cure any number of ailments.- Fashioning Identity: Mola Textiles of Panamá.
