Description
The thick, tactile surfaces of Fukushima's prints betray his study of painting (he practiced both Japanese painting and Western oil painting). The combination of observed details, generalized forms and richly textured surfaces contribute to his unique style.- Lee, Sherman E. "The Year in Review for 1972."
