A vertically oriented black chalk drawing depicts a forest scene with vertical trunks. Centered in the foreground, a thick tree trunk with knots and rough bark rises. To the left, another wide trunk stands among numerous thin, leafless branches. Smudged gray tones create atmospheric depth and soft shadows, while erased highlights accent the trunks and forest floor. Graphite lines frame the top and sides, enclosing the monochromatic composition.
