Description
Palm wine, a favorite Kuba beverage, is consumed in finely carved cups decorated with woven textile patterns. Here the sculptor playfully transformed the handle into a hand. The long, bony fingers suggest the hand of an elder—a symbol of long life and wisdom.- Katherine White Reswick
