The artist and her husband spent several weeks each winter in Oaxaca, Mexico, where this series was created. The ixtle fiber, amate paper, and clay beads used in this collage, as well as in the artist’s Oaxaca Series, were locally sourced by her from an artisan’s market in Oaxaca.- Ward, Evelyn Svec, and William E.
