Description
Chairs of this or similar design seem to have been made by several Boston cabinetmakers. This chair may have belonged to one or more members of the distinguished Derby family or West family-or both-of nearby Salem, Massachusetts.- said to have belonged to the Derby-West Family, Massachusetts, and Roger Wentworth, Arlington, Vermont; Dr. L. N. Harrington, Cooperstown, New York; Moselle T. Meals, 1969.
