Description
This print emulates a traditional chiaroscuro drawing: dark outlines and shadows with white highlights on specially toned paper. In this later edition of the print, Bonnet modified the bed sheet so it discreetly lies across the woman’s thigh. The earlier version on display nearby, printed in red ink, is less modest.- "The Year in Review for 1988." The Bulletin of the Cleveland Museum of Art 76, no. 2 (1989): 30-75. p. 72, no. 149 25160061
