Description
During the 1960s, some artists began to use photography to document their temporary installations and ideas. Repetition of form and refinement of visual perception are major concerns in the work of Sol LeWitt, a distinguished painter, sculptor, muralist, and printmaker. This photograph of a brick wall seen from his studio window combines two of thirty-four images he shot one day at fixed intervals. This montaged work encourages viewers to understand and appreciate the effects that changing light and the passage of time can have on an object.- (Laurence Miller Gallery), New York, NYJanuary 29, 1990The Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH
