Isadora Duncan
1908
Location: not on view
Description
Isadora Duncan broke with the conventions of formal ballet, and danced barefoot, with free, sweeping movements. To artists such as Walkowitz she symbolized the primitive spirit which was shattering to the stiff conventions of the Victorian era.- “1993 Annual Report.” The Bulletin of the Cleveland Museum of Art 81, no. 6 (July 1994): 143–218.
