Mary, Lady Molyneux
1868
(British, 1825–1871)
Diameter: 41.6 cm (16 3/8 in.)
Location: not on view
Description
Munro's method of portraying Lady Molyneux, with her head placed squarely in the center of a circle and her hair radiating outward from her face, gives the image an unusual emotional intensity that is probably the result of focusing relentlessly on the particular character of her features.- (Joanna Barnes Fine Arts, London).
