A horizontally oriented sepia photogravure features a row of approximately twenty bare-chested Arikara men sitting in a grassy field, their backs facing us. Some wear waist wraps with geometric patterns. Toward the right, a tall evergreen tree stands against a pale sky. In the center background, faint poles and smoke rise from behind a low horizon into the hazy atmosphere.
