A horizontally oriented sepia-toned photogravure depicts a weathered house of timber and brush. Centered, a prominent stone chimney is stacked against a sagging wooden roof. To the right, a small figure stands near the structure. Barren mountains fill the background, rising above the dry, uneven foreground. Below the image, capitalized text reads "MODERN HOUSE AT TEJON," with smaller copyright and printer inscriptions positioned in the lower margin.
