Inscription Translation

Clearing cloud is light and the flowing water in ripples/ So refreshing are the colors of the new autumn./ Enticing is that ribbon of [distant] forest -- a veritable picture./ How regretful is the absence of those who cherish mountains.

Inscription Remark

At the upper left surface of the scroll, the artist inscribed a poem to buttress the autumnal flavor of the scene.
