A horizontally oriented black-and-white photograph crops closely around a cluster of waxy flower buds. The organic forms extend diagonally from the lower left, catching bright highlights along fine vertical ridges. These glinting surfaces contrast with deep shadows nested within the overlapping petals. One bud is partially revealed in the center through a dark crevice. The entire composition is set against a solid, lightless background.
