A horizontally oriented black-and-white lithograph depicts a view of a city skyline framed by the dark structure of an elevated railway. From the upper right, a curved track sweeps toward the center. Tall skyscrapers with grid-like windows rise in the middle ground, surrounded by billowing white smoke. The foreground and the overhanging railway structure are cast entirely in shadow, creating high contrast against a dark, cloudy sky.
