Description

While documenting and interviewing young people in Los Angeles, Greenfield was struck by the early loss of innocence among the teenagers from all social and economic levels. Discussing how fast one grows up in Los Angeles, Mijanou, who is featured in this photograph, said, “It seems like everyone is in a rush to be an adult. It’s not cool to be a kid.” Gift of Friends of Photography 2000.132
