Description

This hanging textile sculpture is a dynamic example of a style that Cleveland artist Evelyn Svec Ward developed in the early 1970s. She subsequently integrated the stitched projections into her wall hangings, examples of which are in the museum's collection along with Mexican-influenced works of the 1980s. This nationally renowned and widely collected artist was chairman of the museum's landmark exhibition of the best contemporary international fiber art, Fiberworks, in 1977.
