A vertically oriented black-inked print on cream paper features a central circular medallion. Inside, a laurel-wreathed man with medium-dark skin tone writes with a quill in an open book. A dense ring of animals, including a lion, bull, and crocodile, frames the portrait. Below, serif text reads "ÆSOP'S FABLES," listing the translator and illustrator. A faint signature and date, "Stephen Gooden 1935," appear in the bottom right margin.
