Did You Know?

Armin Landeck held a degree in architecture and buildings remained one of his favorite subjects even after his focus shifted to printmaking.

Description

Armin Landeck first experienced New York as a student in the 1920s, and the city remained one of his favorite subjects throughout the decades that followed. This print is one of numerous depictions that Landeck created of his studio space. The interior is defined by the window’s frame, partially obscured by a striking dark shade that evokes the importance of natural light to the artistic process.
