New Era Saucer

c. 1934
Location: Not on view

Description

New Era was one of Heisey’s most modern patterns. Introduced in 1934 and made as a full line until 1941, the combination of rectangles and circles was in keeping with art deco taste. Many of the surface patterns applied to this shape, such as the fish on the plate, were reflective of the style and the love of exotic imagery popular in the 1930s.
