Coffee Pot (pot, lid, insulator)

Coffee Pot (pot, lid, insulator)

designed 1959, made 1960
Location: not on view

This futuristic coffee set was designed by Stuart Devlin while he was studying silversmithing at the Royal College of Art in London. Besides its unornamented surface, its use of black plastic sleeves to hold the coffee and hot milk pots was innovative because it eliminated the need for traditional handles.
