Description

From 1970 to 1976, Rexroth worked on a melancholy and atmospheric group of images that evoke her memories and dreams of childhood and growing up in rural, southern Ohio. One of the first to successfully use the low-quality, plastic-bodied Diana camera, she artistically took advantage of its defects—irregular exposure, bent perspective, and blurred focus. All of these attributes, in this engrossing portrait of her mother, contribute to Rexroth’s recollection of a bygone time in her life.
