Description

The distorted, dream-like reality here is in part due to the framing, the wide angle, and deep focus of the camera used by Brandt, which was originally designed to photograph crime scenes. Taken two decades after his photograph of the Barcelona beggar in the exhibition’s City section, this image belongs to a series of female nudes shot on the beaches of the English Channel.
