Light brown stoneware vessel appearing almost in the shape of a paper boat, a diamond-like shape curving up at the edges  and with a hole in the center. The surface is speckled and scratched and the vessel darkens in brown before turning grey along the pointed edges.

Description

Kohyama Yasuhisa is known for his exploration of natural forms. This piece is part of a series examining wind, which he began in the 1980s. This vessel was intended for ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement.
