Kenji Nakahashi (Japanese, 1947-2017) Kenji Nakahashi works in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, and photography. He pursued commercial freelance photography and completed both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts, Japan (1971, 1973), before moving to New York in 1973. Nakahashi attended the Pratt Graphics Center (1976), was involved with the Art Students League (1980), and has exhibited in many group and one-person shows since 1976. His awards include the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts Best Student honor (1971), the Carton Gallery First Award, Pratt Graphics Center Competition, New York (1978), and the Miller-Plummer Purchase Award, International Competition of Prints and Photographs, the Print Club, Philadelphia (1985).
