Description
The form of a medallion with a figural bust and bead-and-reel border indicates the artist’s familiarity with Greco-Roman objects. The figure itself, however, is Indian, with voluminous, coiled coiffures and prominent jewelry. This object was probably worn as an ornament on a belt or girdle.- ?–2012Dr. Norman Zaworski [1920–2013], Cleveland, OH, given to the Cleveland Museum of Art2012–The Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH
