A vertically oriented drawing in black ink on cream paper features sketches and text in a vertical column. Minimalist line drawings of hills and buildings sit at the top. Handwritten cursive inscriptions and signatures dated July 1946 occupy the middle. At the bottom, a shaded ink drawing of a barn sits to our left of the phrase "The uncompromising barnyard" and the signature "Alexander Crane." The black ink contrasts against the aged surface.
