A horizontally oriented lithograph uses dense, dark shading to depict a massive ship's hull looming over churning spray. Deeply worked black lines carve into turbulent water, while bright white swaths suggest violent foam plumes. To the left, a tall vessel sits amidst the waves, balanced by a smaller boat on the right. Agitated foreground waves toss dark debris. Handwritten text and a signature mark the lower margin.
