A vertically oriented etching in black ink looks down a sidewalk flanked by towering, timber-framed buildings with gabled roofs and overhanging stories. Dense hatching defines deep shadows around many-paned windows and shopfronts. Loosely sketched figures suggested by expressive strokes populate the foreground, with one wearing a long coat. Fine lines depict a street receding into the distance under a pale sky. "Dorothy E G Woollard" signs the lower left corner.
