Description
Surrealist and modernist photographers had an affinity for shooting shop windows, especially those offering undergarments, which could be read as stand-ins for the human presence. Those photographs also commented on the prevalence of consumerism and the availability of manufactured goods in modern cities.- Ilse Bing: Queen of the Leica.
