Did You Know?

Jordan Wolfson lives and works in Los Angeles.

Description

Jordan Wolfson is known for his work in a wide variety of media, including video, sculpture, installation, photography, and performance. He draws inspiration from advertisements, the world wide web, and technology to create complex narratives that revolve around a series of invented characters. Favorite Things is an intimate portrait of time spent exploring around the endless content of YouTube. In the work, viewers see Wolfson's cursor click through various clips, related links, and play background music like that by David Bowie, alongside random imagery, which includes a walking robot, a scene from The Matrix, Richard Pryor on Sesame Street, and a video of Picasso drawing. The video is a thought-provoking meditation on the pervasiveness of the internet and the ever-present role it plays in our daily lives.
