A vertically oriented black-and-white photograph depicts the dark silhouette of a statue against a light sky. The man faces our right, looking upward with a slightly open mouth. Pictured from the chest up, his arm extends to grip a tall flagpole on our right. A flag hangs downward from the pole, which ends in a pointed tip. The figure's torso is partially cut off by the bottom edge of the frame.
